October 31, 2019-November 3, 2019.
Turin Fair dedicated to emerging international art involving hundreds of artists from different parts of the world, including Zenato Academy’s project with the exhibition “Wine. Beyond Objects,” born from a collaboration with the Zenato winery. On display is Cecilia Del Gatto’s “M√©scita” project, along with works by Giacomo Alberico, Alessandra Draghi, Cesare Lopopolo and Anna Vezzosi.
With the exhibition “Wine. Beyond Objects” and the Prize dedicated to contemporary photography, Zenato Academy will make its debut at The Others event, the initiative aimed at innovation and scouting for contemporary art week, which will be held in Turin from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3, 2019.
With this initiative, the Zenato Academy, a project of the Zenato winery, wants to support young artists and promote a permanent laboratory of study and experimentation that can explore beyond what we know.
A selection of works from the photography exhibition “Wine. Beyond Objects” created by the Master of Photography of the Milan Academy of Fine Arts. Five selected students, coordinated by lecturer Luca Panaro, will investigate the objects used for wine production by thinking about them in a new way, far from conventional use, opening a reflection on the themes and values of the world of wine through photographic research. The land of Lugana and Valpolicella, the vine, wooden barrels, glass containers, tools and machines will evoke something different from their primary function.
The winner of the Zenato Academy Prize for Contemporary Photography will be selected from the works at the fair and will become part of the Academy’s collection. The jury that will select the prize winner is composed of Lorenzo Bruni, artistic director of The Others, art critic Luca Panaro and entrepreneur Nadia Zenato. “Wine. Beyond Objects” is the first in a series of four initiatives that will involve as many International Schools of Photography in Europe, the United States and Asia.
